Want to use Vellum Paper with a Pochette invitation?
We love getting customer feedback! Sabrina
from Australia commented on our blog, “I want to order translucent paper to fit inside
the Pochettes. Do you sell these in that size? Also do you give advice on how to print in
order to fit for this size?” Well, the answer to both of those questions
is yes. But first, for those of you who don’t know what a Pochette is, here is an example.
It opens up like the petals of a flower and you can fit an invitation card inside right
here. We have them in two sizes: 5 1/8 x 7 rectangular and 6 3/8 square. For the square Pochette, you can fit in a
6 1/4 inch square card, and the vellum, which comes pre-cut and in several colors, measures
6 inches square. For the rectangular version, you can fit in
an insert card that measures 4 7/8 by 6 7/8, and the vellum, which is slightly smaller,
measures 4 5/8 by 6 3/4. You can print directly on the card and use
the vellum as a decorative overlay as I’ve done here or you can print directly on the
vellum, placing it on top of a card, making the writing really pop. Now for printing advice, whether you’re
printing directly on the vellum or on the invitation card, the same rules apply. Essentially,
what you’ll be doing is setting your document size and your print driver to match the custom
size of your document, in this case 6 by 6. Just keep in mind, if you are printing directly
on the vellum, that it can be a tricky surface to print on and that results can really vary
from printer to printer. We recommend that you order a sample to test print prior to
purchase. And if you have any questions about the process or any other questions that you
want us to answer in video format, post a comment. We’d love to hear from you.
