Calligraphy Punctuation & Spacing : Calligraphy Period Location Tips

Alright, lets get started with some common
punctuation marks, which you’re going to be using if you’re transcribing anything that’s
written in text. So, small but important, and punctuation marks are based on making
this characteristic little diamond. So we can say that a period is a dot, and a comma
is a dot with a tail. So I’m taking that stroke and pulling it down. When we have call for
an apostrophe, the apostrophe is going to be up in the ascender space, and look exactly
like a comma, only an air-born comma; colons are going to go balanced within the lower
case space, and semi-colons are positioned similarly, but with a little tail on the second
diamond. We’re going to use
the same sort of mark to make quotation marks. So again we can improvise some other ones
that I haven’t covered, but I think you got it.
